When Expanded Bodies Are a Good Thing

September 8, 2011 / By The Chronicle

In fact, the expanded bodies of the new Kennametal Drill-Fix DFS drill body portfolio are a great thing to have in your tool crib.

High-performance 4xD drills are common in the industry. But a 5xD high-performance indexable drill without guiding pad and pilot drill is nowhere near common.

Except at Kennametal.

Our new 5xD Drill-Fix drill bodies are designed for the highest possible metal removal rates and hole accuracy you want to achieve. The design of this drill pays special attention to balancing cutting forces, chip flutes, and coolant channels.

Another good thing? These drills combine the economy of squared outboard inserts with the superior centering capabilities of trigon inboard inserts.

Outfit these drill bodies with our new Beyond DFS outboard inserts in grades KCPK10, KCU25, and KCU40 for outstanding results in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron materials.
