Metal Cutting Tools That Won’t Back Down From a Challenge

December 3, 2013 / By The Chronicle

What’s your Number 1 metal working challenge? We’re sure you have one, and chances are you’ve had it for a while.

Have you figured out how to solve the problem on your own? Or do you keep doing what you’ve always done because you don’t know what to do differently? Is it time for metal cutting tools that don’t back from the challenge?

Let Kennametal help. We specialize in different thinking, and realize that every problem is as unique as the shop it’s in. So we approach each metal working challenge with a bring-it-on attitude.

Turning

Challenged by extremely high temperatures when machining tough alloys? Check out our Beyond PVD grades. They don’t sweat high-temp machining and will last 30% to 40% longer.

Are your profits going down the drain with wasted coolant and energy in high-temp conditions? Beyond BLAST brings an entirely different approach to machining high-temp alloys. The coolant channels through the insert, delivering it with pinpoint accuracy to where it’s needed most, at a fraction of the cost of high-pressure coolant systems.

Holemaking

Are you drilling in a very small space but need big productivity and efficiency? GOdrill can get you there. Our new microdrill has all the advantages of a modular drill, but in the smallest holes with diameters of .0394”-.5” (1-12,7mm). It’s ideal for machining medical components and fuel systems.

Solid End Milling

Are you having trouble machining difficult CFRP (carbon-fiber reinforced polymer) and other non-ferrous materials? KCN05 diamond-coated solid carbide routers have unique geometries that are free cutting and reduce heat generation that’s often encountered. They leave you with a high quality machined surface.

Indexable Milling

Do your current face milling cutters lack the metal removal rates you need for the most efficiency? If so, switch to the Dodeka Mini and Dodeka MAX series. Twelve true cutting edges per insert can boost metal removal rates up to 30%, with 25% lower cutting forces from the soft cutting action, and up to 35% more tool life in light to heavy machining.

Tooling Systems

Having trouble with large, tough-to-machine materials like titanium? KM4X spindle connection was designed for heavy-duty machining and is perfect for the aerospace industry. The portfolio includes rotating adapters and static tooling. Ask about our spindle component packages and static clamping units for turning and mill-turn applications.
