I’ve always loved the hustle and bustle.
There’s something about the excitement and uncertainty in the days leading up to a big event, or the final moments before deadline, that I’m drawn to. Maybe it’s that during this time, everyone involved is working harder than ever to deliver something each person can be proud of. A final product that will unquestionably leave a lasting impression on each person it will touch.
As the Social Intern for the Marketing Technology Department at Kennametal, this is my first time experiencing the hustle and bustle of a global company. If you’ve followed, friended, connected or added Kennametal to your social network, you and I have shared a conversation. We’ve chatted about products and services, blog posts on The Chronicle, and most recently, one of the largest industrial trade shows in the world – IMTS.
At Kennametal, we prepare for IMTS as a team. But individually, we also have a set of our own responsibilities and expectations to meet for Booth W-1522. We feel the weight of our own stress, we experience the ups and downs unique to our specific workloads, and we rightfully earn praise for completing the tasks we made happen.
It’s a journey!
This is my first IMTS journey. The brainstorming, planning and organizing that goes on behind-the-scenes, including trade show etiquette and machine shop lingo, were all foreign to me at first. Since then, I’ve spent my days Thinking (very) Differently about the industry I’m now a part of. And I would like to believe it’s made me that much of a “Better Thinker,” in return.
I may be new to Kennametal, but it’s no secret what goes on here. It’s evident that every day I come into work, the concept of “Better Thinking” is inspiring the Different Thinking experts surrounding me to create new, innovative products and services attractive to you as consumers. This is a benefit to me, as a social enthusiast, because it makes it that much easier (not to mention more fun) to deliver the passion they share, both individually and as a team, to all of you.
I not only strongly encourage you to make Booth W-1522 a priority at IMTS, but I would love for you to join our #IMTS conversation prior to, during, and even after the show. Visit the Kennametal Instagram page, and participate in the “Different Thinking is Better Thinking Contest” we currently have going on.
I want to hear about YOUR journey to IMTS. And in return, I’ll share how Kennametal can provide you with the best of experience of your life, once you get there.
