Amidst a mixed picture of growth in emerging markets and a sluggish domestic outlook in Japan, Kennametal delivered on a successful event at this year’s 25th International Machine Tool Fair (JIMTOF2010) held in Tokyo from October 28 to November 2. This year’s JIMTOF drew a total of 114,558 attendees over the 6-day period; despite having weather challenges and a typhoon.
Kennametal received very positive feedback from customers, machine tool builders , channel partners and the press. Key highlights at the show included the launch of cutting edge new products such as Beyond Blast, KM4X and WIDIA’s Victory M370 and its complete portfolio. It was the first time we rolled out the WIDIA brand in Japan and it certainly drew much industry attention.
In addition to the booth displays, we held focused industry technical seminars on Transportation, Aerospace and Tooling Systems. These seminars generated a lot of interests on the key industry solutions and show cased our product innovation.
On the 4th day of JIMTOF, Carlos Cardoso, Chairman, President and CEO held press conferences for both Kennametal and WIDIA brands. These were attended by 7 industrial magazines and local newspapers. Following the press conferences, the press representatives visited our booths.
